Between the year of 1997 and 2010, over 1/4 Danish couples owe their success in finding their match to dating sites, according to MetroXpress newspaper. Researchers at Oxford University have examined online dating characteristics in 18 countries. Their report indicates that in the last 14 years, around 26% of Danish couples found each other due to online dating.

Denmark ranked in third on the list. Charlie Breindahl, who researches in online dating at the University of Copenhagen, says that today, people are feeling much more comfortable and open about using online dating sites, not like once before when it was taken as a taboo. He adds that we have began to accept online dating due to the rapid growth of the use of internet for just about anything.
